NIO Partners with Sinopec on Charging Infrastructure Collaboration

On September 25, NIO reached a charging service cooperation agreement with Sinopec. Users can now locate and utilize Sinopec’s nationwide charging stations through the NIO App, in-car systems, and other convenient channels. Together, the two companies will deliver a charging service that is widely accessible, highly efficient to query, and incredibly easy to use for their customers.

According to the cooperation agreement, starting from September 25, users can now access features such as charging station search, navigation, activation, and payment for Sinopec charging piles through the NIO and Ledor apps, in-car systems, and the ChargeNow app. This will further enhance users' charging experience and efficiency. The collaboration between the two companies will also provide NIO and Ledor users with greater convenience when charging their vehicles during the National Day holiday travel period.

Since NIO and Sinopec established their strategic partnership on April 15, 2021, the two companies have embarked on comprehensive collaboration in areas such as jointly building charging and battery-swapping infrastructure. To date, NIO and Sinopec have teamed up to construct a total of 279 charging and battery-swapping stations—comprising 119 battery-swapping stations and 160 charging stations—spanning 29 provincial-level administrative regions across China. This initiative is accelerating the development of the nation’s charging and battery-swapping network, enabling more users to enjoy convenient, efficient, and widespread charging services.
As of September 25, NIO has built 2,529 battery swap stations and installed 23,440 charging piles nationwide, with over 1,085,000 third-party charging piles integrated into its network. The daily availability rate of charging piles exceeds 99%, making NIO a leader in the industry in terms of both the number of built charging infrastructure and battery swap stations. On August 20, during the "Power UP 2024 NIO Charging Day," NIO unveiled its "Charging County-to-County Connectivity Plan," aiming to achieve nationwide charging coverage in every county by June 30, 2025—ensuring that every county is equipped with NIO charging stations. By the end of 2025, NIO will also complete the battery swap station connectivity plan across all 27 provincial-level administrative regions, extending coverage to more than 2,300 county-level administrative areas. This initiative underscores NIO's commitment to continuously expanding its charging infrastructure across China, making electric vehicle charging as convenient as refueling at a gas station.
