The 2024 Shanghai International Low-Carbon Smart Mobility Expo Summit Forum Concludes Successfully

The 2024 Shanghai International Low-Carbon Smart Mobility Exhibition series of forums left a profound impression with their fresh perspectives, insightful observations, and forward-thinking strategies tailored to real-world industry needs. During the event, the organizers collaborated with three major industry institutions—the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the China Automotive Engineering Society, and the China EV100—to host several high-profile summits that drew significant attention. These discussions not only fostered valuable exchanges and mutual learning but also greatly enriched the professional depth of the exhibition. Industry leaders and attendees from home and abroad actively shared their expertise, offering innovative ideas and practical solutions aimed at driving cross-sectoral integration among academia, research, and industry, as well as enhancing collaboration between government and enterprises.
The 2024 Shanghai International Low-Carbon Smart Mobility Exhibition Summit Forum was themed "Technological Innovation Empowering the High-Quality Development of the Automotive Industry." At the "Low-Carbon Mobility Vehicle-Road Network Integration Development Model Forum," under the new circumstances, speakers presented a series of recommendations for the integrated development of vehicle-road networks—such as providing scientific guidance, initiating early planning, and promoting upgrades and transformations—aimed at accelerating the adoption of new-energy vehicles in China, optimizing high-speed charging quality, and enhancing the collaborative efficiency of vehicle-road networks. Meanwhile, at the "Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Cell Vehicle Low-Carbon Development Forum," attendees focused their discussions on key topics including renewable energy-based hydrogen production, efficient operation of fuel cell systems, lifecycle carbon footprint assessment, and carbon asset development, paving the way for future strategies that will drive the industry's healthy growth.

“Green and low-carbon development has already become a global consensus and the driving force behind growth. Innovation will always be the strongest engine propelling high-quality economic development.” Gu Chunting, Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Municipal Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Chairman of Shanghai International Exhibition (Group) Co., Ltd., noted in his speech that he believes, with the increasing application of new energy technologies, new industrial chains will continue to evolve and mature. He expressed his willingness to collaborate with all parties to help the automotive industry explore greater scalability and cross-sectoral integration.

Fu Bingfeng, Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, as well as Chairman of the China Charging Alliance, stated that developing new-energy vehicles is a strategic choice for China to achieve green development—and it is the only viable path forward for promoting high-quality automotive growth and driving a green transformation in transportation. In this developmental journey, building robust charging and battery-swapping infrastructure serves as the critical foundation and fundamental guarantee for the widespread adoption of new-energy vehicles. Thanks to the nation’s policy guidance over the years—encouraging moderately proactive investment and construction—we have essentially established a comprehensive charging and swapping service network that now effectively meets the energy-replenishment needs of electric vehicle users across the country.

"Green, low-carbon, and sustainable development has become a global trend," said Wang Ju, Secretary-General of the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association and Executive Secretary-General of the China Society of Automotive Engineers. Fuel cell vehicles, with their high energy efficiency and zero emissions, are the primary vehicle for hydrogen energy applications in the transportation sector and a crucial path to promoting clean, low-carbon transportation and achieving carbon neutrality in the automotive sector. This global trend presents new opportunities for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

In addition, the organizers also held concurrent forums covering ESG, digital carbon management, and AI-based carbon reduction, including the 2024 Automotive Electrification Innovation Technology Summit, the 2024 China Automotive Low-Carbon and Sustainable Development Forum, the GTIC2024 China Smart Car Computing Summit, and the Automotive Supply Chain New Trends Conference. These forums covered specific areas such as ESG, digital carbon management, and AI-based carbon reduction. Representatives from government, industry, academia, and research shared innovative achievements, exchanged experiences, and forged industry consensus, charting a promising blueprint for jointly building a green, intelligent automotive industry ecosystem in the new era and promoting the development of the new energy vehicle industry.
