NIO Energy and SAIC General Motors Reach Agreement on Charging Network Interconnectivity

On April 18, Wuhan NIO Energy Co., Ltd. ("NIO Energy") officially established a partnership with SAIC-GM Sales Co., Ltd. ("SAIC-GM") to achieve seamless interconnection of their charging networks. Under the cooperation agreement, SAIC-GM will fully integrate its vehicles into NIO's charging station network, covering high-frequency scenarios such as highways, commercial districts, office areas, residential communities, scenic spots, and hotels. Customers driving new-energy vehicles under the Cadillac and Buick brands of SAIC-GM will soon be able to use the charging map feature in their respective brand apps to instantly access real-time information on the location, pricing, and current status of NIO’s charging piles. They’ll also enjoy the convenience of quick, hassle-free operations like scanning codes to start charging and making payments directly through the app—enjoying NIO Energy’s expanded coverage and an even more efficient charging experience.

As of now, NIO has built 3,767 charging stations nationwide, equipped with a total of 21,912 charging piles—making it the automotive brand with the largest number of charging infrastructure across the country. NIO has also established 364 supercharging stations along highways, featuring 1,422 supercharging piles, positioning it as the automaker that has installed the most supercharging piles at highway service areas nationwide. From the very beginning of its charging network expansion, NIO has opened its charging infrastructure to all new-energy vehicle users; in fact, over 80% of the electricity supplied through these stations is already serving electric vehicle brands beyond NIO, providing unparalleled convenience for EV owners of all brands.
