However, in the automotive industry's transition to new energy, energy and power technology is not a single option, and pure electric technology is unlikely to be the sole path for market transformation. This is Changan Automobile's Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Zhang Xiaoyu's latest assessment of the new energy vehicle market. In his view, diverse market demands have led to a market landscape where fuel vehicles, pure electric vehicles, and hybrid/range-extended vehicles coexist and embrace each other.

On March 13, Changan Automobile officially launched the new Blue Whale Power. Reportedly, as a comprehensive, all-scenario power solution, Changan Automobile focuses on the "engine + three-electric" core technology and, through a "building block" power module development approach, integrates the engine, motor, electronic control, and range extender. Zhang Xiaoyu revealed that Changan Automobile is committed to addressing numerous customer pain points regarding fuel consumption and all-terrain driving. The new Blue Whale engine offers comprehensive improvements in three key areas: cost savings, enhanced safety and reliability, and enhanced comfort, meeting increasingly diverse customer needs.

Reporters learned that thanks to a 500-bar high-pressure fuel injection system, a 1.45 stroke-to-bore ratio, and 150mJ ignition technology, the new Blue Whale engine achieves a production thermal efficiency of 44.28%. Furthermore, laboratory testing has shown a staggering reserve thermal efficiency of 47.03%, which not only maximizes combustion efficiency but also reduces maintenance. Furthermore, with its dual-motor electric drive system, the new Blue Whale engine allows for flexible selection and one-touch locking of plug-in hybrid and range-extended modes. Users can switch between these two power modes for a more flexible and diverse driving experience. The new Blue Whale engine also boasts a leading oil-to-electric conversion rate. Notably, the new Blue Whale Powertrain features the iEM advanced intelligent power control system, which includes the advanced A-ECMS algorithm, global power source management technology, and all-terrain adaptive control technology. This navigation-based dynamic energy management allows users to more flexibly adapt to different road conditions. "The new Blue Whale Powertrain will fully empower Changan Automobile's three major product brands.
