Tesla's first V4 Supercharger station in Asia opens in Hong Kong, China.
IT Home, October 12: As electric vehicles continue to gain popularity, as of August this year, among the more than 18,000 newly registered EVs in Hong Kong, 6,415 were Teslas—making Tesla one of the most beloved EV brands in the city. Tesla has now confirmed that Asia's first V4 Supercharger station has officially opened in Hong Kong, located at Lee Garden One in Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island. Currently, all three V4 Supercharger stalls are situated within Lee Garden One, while Lee Garden Three and Hysan Place each feature 12 V3 Supercharger stalls, collectively forming the largest charging hub on Hong Kong Island.
Tesla Regional Director Fan Jingyi stated that the newly launched V4 Supercharger station is equipped with longer charging cables to accommodate owners of other brands, and currently delivers a maximum charging power of up to 250kW per vehicle. The system will later receive an OTA update to further enhance charging efficiency—previously reported to potentially reach as high as 350kW. As for pricing, it will remain consistent with the current V3 system, ranging from approximately HKD 3.05 to HKD 4.05 per kilowatt-hour (IT Home note: currently around RMB 2.8487 to RMB 3.7827). It’s worth noting that Tesla has already established 65 V3 Supercharger stations and 124 destination charging stations across Hong Kong, covering all 18 districts of the territory.
Tesla partner Hysan announced that, after the upgrade, the number of Tesla charging stations in the area will increase to 165, including 15 Supercharger stations and 150 complimentary destination charging stations. It is reported that using the fastest Supercharger station in the area can add up to 275 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes.
