On November 3, Aion's next-generation, high-end, all-electric-exclusive platform—AEP 3.0—officially began mass production and was unveiled. Reportedly, this platform will first be mass-produced for models in the Hyper series, with the inaugural model being the recently launched all-electric supercar, the Hyper SSR.
The new platform represents a comprehensive upgrade over AEP 2.0, featuring a 15% reduction in overall vehicle energy consumption, a 10% improvement in cold-weather range, and a parts commonality rate of 78%. Additionally, Aion has put considerable thought into enhancing driving dynamics, incorporating its pioneering X-pin flat-wire technology and an intelligent multi-mode gear-shifting system that ensures the motor consistently operates within its most efficient performance range. This innovation enables the single-motor version to achieve a 0-to-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration in just 4.9 seconds, while the multi-motor variant can accelerate from standstill to 62 mph in as little as 1.9 seconds—reaching a top speed of 300 km/h.
At the same time, the AEP 3.0 platform adopts a supercar-inspired low-center-of-gravity, lightweight vehicle architecture, delivering a rear-wheel-drive layout that pushes handling to new limits—and also supports the option for an advanced four-wheel-drive system. Equipped with the AICS intelligent chassis system, the platform can dynamically adjust wheel output torque, braking torque, and suspension stiffness in real time, based on a range of parameters such as wheel speed, steering angle, accelerator input, and yaw rate, enabling multi-system dynamic coordination and control.
At this year's Brand Night event held in September, Aion officially launched its new high-end brand, "Hyper HaoBo," with the company's first model—the Hyper SSR all-electric supercar—already equipped with this cutting-edge platform. The new vehicle features a front-and-rear dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering a maximum power output of 1,225 horsepower and a staggering peak torque of 12,000 Nm. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.9 seconds.
