On April 17, Volkswagen Group announced that it will debut at this year's Shanghai Auto Show an advanced driver-assistance system developed by its Chinese team, specifically tailored to China's complex and diverse road conditions. The system will first be featured in a new Volkswagen-branded model targeted at the Chinese market this year, with plans to roll out further applications to newly developed, smart, connected vehicles based on the CMP platform starting next year.
It is understood that CARIZON, the joint venture between CARIAD, Volkswagen Group's software company, and Horizon Robotics, has begun developing advanced driver-assistance and autonomous driving technologies tailored for the Chinese market.
