Automotive chip certification system upgraded again
The National Certification and Accreditation Administration recently approved the initiation of five industry standards for certification and accreditation, including the "General Technical Requirements for Automotive Chip Certification Review." These new standards will further enhance the technical framework for automotive chip certification review, accelerating the industrial application and quality improvement of domestically produced automotive chips.
Previously, the State Administration for Market Regulation released the first batch of certified automotive chip enterprises in China, along with Version 1.0 of the Technical System for Automotive Chip Certification and Review—marking a new milestone in China’s automotive chip quality certification process. The initiation and development of these five industry standards for certification recognition represent a key step in putting this initiative into practice, further standardizing automotive chip certification and review activities while enhancing the technical capabilities of certification bodies, design firms, testing labs, and computing power providers. At the same time, these standards will fill critical gaps in domestic industry frameworks, helping to refine and complete China’s overall automotive chip certification and review technical system. By doing so, they will regulate certification and review practices, ultimately boosting the quality and reliability of domestically produced automotive chips, strengthening market competitiveness, and supporting the higher-level growth of China’s indigenous automotive chip industry.
