Xinwanda partners with Xiamen Tungsten New Energy to advance solid-state battery development.
Xinwanda announced late on December 12 that its subsidiary, Xinwanda Power, has signed a "Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement on Solid-State Batteries" with Xiamen Xatung New Energy Materials Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Xatung New Energy").

Based on the complementary strengths and compatibility between the two parties in strategic cooperation, we will leverage our respective market and technological advantages to drive the industrial implementation of a series of next-generation battery materials tailored for solid-state batteries. Together, we will jointly develop these innovative materials for solid-state batteries and explore opportunities to further expand our business collaboration at the right time. The collaborative efforts between the two sides encompass four key areas: the development of cathode materials for solid-state batteries, the creation of solid-state battery electrolytes and related materials, as well as joint research and industrialization partnerships focused on solid-state battery technology.
In the area of collaborative development of solid-state batteries, Xinwangda Power will leverage its extensive R&D and manufacturing expertise in lithium-ion and solid-state battery technologies. Drawing on advanced raw materials such as the novel cathode materials and solid electrolytes provided by Xiamen Tungsten New Energy, the company will develop solid-state batteries that deliver high energy density and exceptional safety. Specific initiatives include the creation of composite cathode ions, the construction of conductive networks for both ions and electrons, the development of highly stable electrolyte films, and the innovation of lithium-metal anodes with zero lithium dendrite formation and superior Coulombic efficiency— all aimed at meeting the commercialization demands of solid-state batteries in key sectors like new-energy vehicles and energy-storage systems. As a leading contender in next-generation battery technology, solid-state batteries boast remarkable advantages such as high energy density, enhanced safety, and extended lifespan, making them a promising solution for the future of electric vehicles. However, the industrialization of solid-state batteries still faces certain uncertainties.

It is reported that Xinwangda Power has completed the development of its first-generation semi-solid-state battery, which boasts an energy density of 300 Wh/kg. The second-generation semi-solid-state battery product is currently in the pilot-scale development phase, with an expected energy density of 400 Wh/kg—and is slated for vehicle integration and validation by the end of this year. Meanwhile, the company has already achieved small-scale trials for its first-generation all-solid-state battery, delivering an energy density of 400 Wh/kg, while work on a higher-energy-density second-generation all-solid-state battery is rapidly advancing. Concurrently, the design and construction of the all-solid-state battery production line are being accelerated, with plans to achieve mass-production capability by 2026.
