BYD’s 15-millionth new-energy vehicle rolls off the assembly line, marking two significant milestones.
On December 18, the rollout ceremony for BYD’s 15-millionth new-energy vehicle was successfully held at the Jinan factory. The Denza N8L—a “large six-seat, safe and luxurious SUV”—became the 15-millionth vehicle to roll off the production line; this also marked the 15,000th Denza N8L to be produced. It took BYD exactly 17 years to reach this milestone. Yet from 10 million to 15 million vehicles, the company achieved this milestone in just 13 months, once again setting a new record for the “acceleration” of China’s new-energy vehicle industry and signaling that China’s automotive industry has officially entered a new stage of global leadership.

From January to November 2025, BYD’s cumulative sales reached 4.182 million units, representing a year-on-year increase of 11.3%. Among these, overseas sales totaled 917,000 units—far exceeding the company’s total overseas sales for the entire year 2024. BYD’s global footprint now covers more than 110 countries and regions, making it one of China’s fastest-growing automakers in terms of exports and leading the way for Chinese automobiles as they go from China to the world.
Behind BYD’s rapid growth lies its long-term commitment to the development strategies of “technology first” and “new-energy vehicles.” In the first three quarters of 2025, BYD’s R&D investment reached 43.75 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 31%, with cumulative R&D investment exceeding 220 billion yuan. Disruptive technologies from BYD’s “technology fishpond”—including the Tian Shen Zhi Yan driving assistance system, megawatt-level flash charging, the Super e-platform, Yi San Fang, and Yi Si Fang—have been successively implemented, addressing core pain points in new-energy vehicles such as safety, range, and handling.

Just over a month after its launch, the Denza N8L has already rolled off the production line in a total of 15,000 units, marking another milestone achievement for Denza as BYD’s premium luxury brand. Thanks to the Yisanzhong technology, the Denza N8L delivers exceptional safety performance, including passing the 210 km/h fishhook test without tipping over. In terms of passive safety, the Denza N8L features 2,000 MPa-grade materials in key structural areas, combined with hybrid CTB battery-body integration technology and an advanced nine-airbag system, creating a “super-safe, six-seat family SUV” that earns users’ trust as the “King of Safety.” The Denza N8L boasts the smallest turning radius among large SUVs—just 4.58 meters—and is equipped with the YunNian-A+ road-surface pre-visualization system, enabling it to effortlessly handle even the most extreme road conditions. Moreover, with an interior space of 6.11 square meters and a flexible “4+N” seating layout, the Denza N8L offers a “super-luxury, mobile flat-style home” that perfectly suits diverse family scenarios. By integrating the AI agent with DeepSeek’s large-scale model, coupled with the TianShenZhiYan B-assisted driving laser version (DiPilot 300) and a seamless vehicle-home connectivity ecosystem, the Denza N8L becomes a “super-smart, technologically advanced flagship sedan.”

Since the beginning of this year, the Denza D9 (configuration | price inquiry) has successfully topped the sales charts for luxury MPVs in multiple countries including Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia for the first half of 2025. At the same time, the Denza D9 demonstrates exceptional brand premium power: its starting price in Singapore is approximately RMB 1.606 million, while its pre-sale price in the Brazilian market is around RMB 1.05 million—significantly higher than its domestic price.

Currently, Chinese automotive brands are fully stepping into the deep waters of premiumization and globalization. Leveraging industry-leading breakthroughs in new-energy technologies, Chinese automakers—represented by BYD—are accelerating the shift from “Made in China” to “China’s Technology” in terms of value enhancement.
