The ultimate single-chip solution—a “next-level” experience! Light舟智航’s industry-first single-chip Journey 6M urban NOA is now officially in mass production and has been integrated into vehicles.

On January 21, QCraft (hereinafter referred to as “QCraft”) officially announced that the industry’s first city NOA solution based on Horizon’s Journey 6M has entered mass production and is now available in vehicles. The first model to feature this solution is the upgraded smart version of Li Auto’s L-series vehicles equipped with AD Pro. This solution was jointly developed by Li Auto and QCraft, with Li Auto taking the lead in its R&D. Specifically designed for urban driving scenarios, it leverages an exceptional computing power of 128 TOPS to deliver a class-leading urban NOA experience. With continuously evolving algorithms and all-weather perception capabilities, it provides family users with intelligent safety that is both reassuring and dependable. QCraft has thus become the industry’s first autonomous driving company to achieve mass production and delivery of a city NOA system based on the single Journey 6M chip.

This mass-production solution is based on Light舟智航’s industry-first, end-to-end large-scale safety model, which comprehensively covers urban scenarios in users’ daily commutes. Through deep co-design optimization of both software and hardware, this solution achieves the ultimate utilization of single-chip computing power, delivering superior safety and traffic efficiency under identical hardware configurations. With its “ultra-efficient single-chip, ‘class-leading’ experience,” it sets a new benchmark for family-friendly urban assisted driving and helps accelerate the widespread adoption of advanced driver-assistance systems. Dr. Yu Qian, Co-founder, Chairman, and CEO of Light舟智航, stated: “Light舟 was among the first in the industry to recognize that a single chip could support city-level NOA functionality—and we’ve successfully translated this insight into real-world, ultra-efficient performance. Our single-chip Journey 6M city NOA solution, with 128 TOPS of computing power, delivers an outstanding advanced driver-assistance experience, truly achieving ‘maximal utilization of computing power.’ We’re working closely with Li Auto to jointly establish a new paradigm for the development of next-generation assisted driving systems.”
Based on Qingzhou’s philosophy of “Safety First, Steady Progress for Long-term Success,” this solution leverages a secure end-to-end large-scale model that boasts anthropomorphic, defensive driving capabilities, providing comprehensive protection for driving safety throughout the entire journey. When encountering high-frequency risk scenarios such as unlit T-intersections and narrow roads with mixed pedestrian and vehicle traffic, the system can anticipate potential hazards in advance, slow down proactively, avoid aggressive maneuvers, and maintain ample safety margins—offering all-around protection from driving to parking.

The secure end-to-end large model integrates the “spatiotemporal joint planning” experience validated through Light舟’s large-scale mass production, and leverages a safety alignment mechanism to ensure that the driving trajectories planned by the end-to-end model comply with human-defined safety protocols. This effectively enhances the model’s overall performance and interpretability, achieving both high upper limits and greater flexibility, as well as high lower limits and enhanced safety. Thanks to the fusion of LiDAR and vision, this solution delivers outstanding safety performance even in nighttime scenarios.
It’s worth noting that the safety model is deeply integrated with the cockpit’s central HMI, enabling it to present users with real-time insights into the system’s decision-making logic. This allows users to intuitively understand why the system slows down, why it takes detours, and why it chooses to wait—thus moving away from the traditional end-to-end “black-box decision-making” approach and making safety decisions fully transparent, so drivers can feel more confident and in control. Adhering to the pragmatic value philosophy of “not striving for driving capability everywhere, but ensuring that every place we can drive is easy and enjoyable,” this solution focuses on comprehensively covering all typical urban travel scenarios faced by users, including national highways, provincial roads, urban arterial roads, and rural country lanes—all types of public roads. It effortlessly handles complex road topologies such as forked roads, Y-shaped intersections, and sharp curves, as well as various driving tasks like left turns, right turns, and straight-ahead maneuvers, ultimately delivering more efficient driving and a more comfortable driving experience.

In terms of driving efficiency, for high-frequency scenarios such as starting at red lights and city cruising, the system can automatically adjust its pace according to road conditions—avoiding delays caused by slow reactions that would impair traffic flow, yet also refraining from adopting overly aggressive strategies that might increase risks, thus achieving just the right rhythm. As for the driving experience, when encountering situations like temporary stops and detours, pedestrians crossing the street, or large vehicles yielding, the system’s motion planning is smooth and seamless, eliminating frequent hard braking, hesitation, or repeated acceleration and deceleration, thereby delivering a remarkably comfortable and effortless driving experience.
Achieving large-scale mass production and delivery of the industry’s first single-chip 6M urban NOA represents Light舟智航’s comprehensive strength, including its robust mass-production capabilities and exceptional software-hardware synergy optimization. Thanks to the cost-effectiveness of the Journey 6 platform, this solution can in the future be widely adapted to vehicles across various price ranges, breaking down the price barrier for advanced driver-assistance systems and enabling more users to enjoy a safe and user-friendly urban driving assistance experience, thereby accelerating our journey toward a new stage of “equal access to intelligent driving.”
