Horizon HSD welcomes its first OTA update for the New Year, introducing a host of optimized features and new functionalities to enhance peace of mind during travel.

Recently, Horizon HSD (Horizon SuperDrive™️, the all-scenario advanced driver-assistance system) officially rolled out its first over-the-air (OTA) update following mass production. The newly released Horizon HSD V1.5 version features numerous optimizations and new enhancements in areas such as the driving experience of the advanced driver-assistance system, parking efficiency, environmental perception accuracy, and human-machine interaction, delivering a more natural and safer user experience that boosts drivers’ peace of mind during daily commutes. Currently, HSD V1.5 has been officially launched in phased updates for Starway ET5 owners (configuration | price inquiry).

A great user experience stems from the continuous refinement of details. In this iteration, HSD V1.5 has been optimized across multiple dimensions, including anthropomorphic driving, driving confidence, parking scenarios, and HMI display. Regarding the sense of anthropomorphism in driving, especially for the frequent holiday travel scenarios ahead, HSD V1.5 has focused on optimizing speed control and detour trajectory strategies, enhancing the smoothness of following and stopping at medium and low speeds, and strengthening defensive driving logic when traveling alongside larger vehicles. This provides a steady and reassuring presence on the road home, whether navigating congested traffic, mixed-traffic conditions, or multiple vehicles traveling side by side on high-speed national highways.
In terms of driving confidence, Horizon HSD is committed to enabling the system to “think like an experienced driver and protect you like family.” HSD V1.5 features significant optimizations for intersections and complex environments. At the same time, the new version offers smoother start-stop and following functions, ensuring that every journey is precise and composed. For instance, in intersection scenarios, HSD V1.5 has revamped the logic governing entry speeds and enhanced its ability to detect yellow-light flashes, oversized traffic signals, and complex landmarks, thereby improving trajectory smoothness in challenging situations such as U-turns. The new version also provides more comprehensive recognition of curbs and irregular obstacles, guaranteeing users a steady sense of security even in rugged conditions and offering round-the-clock protection.

In terms of parking—a feature frequently used by users—HSD V1.5 has also introduced several optimizations to enhance parking performance, including an upgraded trajectory planning algorithm that boosts the success rate of parallel parking in tight spaces; optimized steering control logic that improves the smoothness of parking maneuvers and reduces tire wear; and enhanced dynamic gear-shifting performance, enabling gear changes without requiring a full stop, thus making entry and exit from parking spaces even smoother. In addition, HSD V1.5 has further refined aspects such as the display of the driver-assistance environment, making the interactive guidance during driving clearer and more intuitive.

The Horizon HSD HMI not only renders the road environment with exceptional clarity but also aims to convey temperature to users through human-machine interaction and visual language. This time, the brand-new HSD V1.5 has launched the “HSD Paradise” module, enabling users to activate personalized display effects—for instance, by turning on the “Luminous Splendor” mode, the vehicle guidance lines will display a vibrant, multi-colored effect. Additionally, the newly introduced SR interface features festive New Year effects incorporating elements such as fireworks, bringing a joyful, New Year-themed atmosphere to the driving experience. In the future, “HSD Paradise” will gradually roll out even more personalized skin displays, fun content, and interactive Easter eggs.

In addition to optimizing the existing feature experience and focusing on high-frequency scenarios in daily commuting, HSD V1.5 also introduces several new practical features: a newly added parking anti-rollaway protection mechanism. After selecting a target parking space in environments such as parking lots, the system automatically activates deceleration control at low speeds, effectively mitigating the risk of the vehicle rolling away and ensuring greater peace of mind with every parking maneuver. Furthermore, a new auxiliary driving version information page has been added, allowing users to easily check the current system version number and update notes—making all relevant features immediately clear at a glance.

The evolution of technology is deeply rooted in insights into user needs. Today, HSD’s user base continues to expand. Since the launch of its first models—the Starway ET5 and the Deepal L06—the number of activated systems has exceeded 25,000 units. Since HSD was launched at the end of November, the cumulative intelligent driving mileage has surpassed 5 million kilometers, and the cumulative number of assisted parking operations has exceeded 500,000. Among these, the Starway ET5 accounts for 30.9% of the total intelligent driving mileage. As new models such as the Venucia T9L and iCAR V27 are successively introduced, Horizon HSD will soon become a part of even more users’ daily lives.
