A BYD representative revealed that BYD is supplying blade batteries to Tesla, which are already being shipped to Europe. Meanwhile, the first batch of Tesla vehicles equipped with BYD's blade batteries could roll off the production line at the Berlin factory as early as within the next month. However, a source from Tesla's Shanghai Superfactory noted that, so far, no BYD batteries have appeared on the production line at the Shanghai facility, nor have they heard of any related plans being implemented.
Currently, Tesla's Berlin Superfactory is primarily producing the Model Y (configuration | inquiry), which also means that BYD's Blade batteries will first be integrated into select Model Y vehicles.
