On September 16, the 2021 World New Energy Vehicles Congress (WNEVC) was held in Haikou, Hainan, where Nissan Motor Co. delivered a keynote speech titled "Nissan's Electrification Strategy Toward Carbon Neutrality." According to information obtained by China Netcom Agency, Nissan aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, while simultaneously reducing carbon emissions through its all-electric vehicle lineup and Nissan e-POWER technology.
In January of this year, Nissan Motor Co. announced its carbon-neutral target, aiming to achieve carbon neutrality across the company’s business operations and product lifecycles by 2050. At the same time, Nissan plans to make 100% of its new models in key markets—including China—electrically driven by the early 2030s. While advancing its all-electric vehicle lineup, Nissan is also positioning its Nissan e-POWER technology as a critical pillar of the company’s electrification strategy.
Nissan’s e-POWER technology will support the Chinese government’s implementation of its energy-saving, emission-reduction, and new-energy vehicle technology roadmap. By 2025, Nissan plans to introduce nine electrified models into the Chinese market, including six models equipped with Nissan’s e-POWER technology.
