The "Fireworks" Guardian of Greenery Amidst 21 Years of Storms and Rain

                                                                      — Remembering Zhangjiang Zhongtong Property Project Team’s Efficient and Swift Handling of Fallen Trees

On July 23, 2021, based on forecasts from major media outlets regarding the projected path of this year's No. 6 typhoon "Yanhua," Zhangjiang Zhongtong Property Project Department, under the deployment of Manager Dai at the project headquarters, remained fully prepared, strengthened protective measures, thoroughly inspected for potential risks, and ensured robust 24-hour security patrols as well as a reliable 24-hour power supply.
Due to the influence of Typhoon "Yanhua," the Shanghai region experienced continuous typhoon conditions for four straight days—from July 24 through July 27—accompanied by relentless, heavy rainfall both day and night. "Yanhua" ranks first in terms of total rainfall and second in maximum wind speed among typhoons affecting the region over the past decade. The accumulated rainfall has been exceptionally high, with some areas even seeing torrential downpours—locally, extremely heavy rainstorms—with totals ranging from 120 to 180 millimeters overall, and in isolated spots reaching as much as 200 to 350 millimeters. Additionally, gusty winds have been particularly strong, with widespread gusts of 9 to 12 on land as well as along rivers and coastal regions.
On the evening of July 24, as Typhoon "Yanhua" approached, the strong winds caused varying degrees of damage to the greenery within the Zhangjiang Zhongtong Property Park. Among them, the landscaped area located on the right side of the park entrance—being in a relatively open spot—suffered the most severe impact from Typhoon "Yanhua" and the heavy rainfall. Tragically, three red-leaved willow trees in that area were knocked down entirely. Fortunately, the on-site duty staff at the project headquarters promptly noticed the sudden collapse of the trees and immediately reported the incident to Manager Dai of the project department, who swiftly issued clear instructions emphasizing the need to prioritize the safety of all personnel stationed at the park.
As Typhoon "Fireworks" continued to batter the region with heavy rains on July 26, Zhangjiang Zhongtong Property Project Team promptly activated its emergency response plan. The project's landscaping outsourcing company immediately dispatched Manager Lü, leading an emergency squad consisting of two landscaping technicians. Early that morning, despite the strong winds and downpour, the team arrived at the Zhongtong Park to conduct a thorough inspection of the damaged greenery—and swiftly launched emergency repairs on the most severely affected red-leaved willows. They also worked diligently to stabilize and trim trees that had toppled throughout the park. To minimize disruption to tenants within the park, on July 28, the project manager coordinated with the landscaping outsourcing company to carry out comprehensive maintenance work only after all tenants had finished their shifts. In addition to straightening and replanting the three most critically damaged red-leaved willows, the team performed a unified assessment of all other greenery showing varying degrees of harm. As a result, every single area of the park's landscaping received meticulous attention, ensuring no detail was overlooked.
