Don't let your guard down against the epidemic—here's how to celebrate this Spring Festival!
——Remembering the Wuhan Team's Epidemic Prevention Work During the 2021 Spring Festival Period
As the 2021 Spring Festival approaches, returning home for the holiday is deeply ingrained in the hearts of every Chinese person. However, given the ongoing and complex COVID-19 prevention and control situation both domestically and internationally, all employees across the four departments operating in the Wuhan region have actively responded to the nation's call by promoting healthy habits—such as wearing masks, washing hands frequently, ensuring proper ventilation, minimizing gatherings, maintaining a one-meter social distance, using communal utensils, and avoiding unnecessary travel back to hometowns.
Looking back to early 2020, we experienced a heart-wrenching tragedy as the novel coronavirus ravaged Wuhan, Hubei Province. Without any specific antiviral treatments and amid the virus's high transmissibility and alarming mortality rate, the city’s 10 million residents endured an unprecedented 76-day lockdown—history-making in its scale. People were forced to stay indoors, isolating themselves to protect against the virus and prevent its further spread. Controlling and combating this epidemic wasn’t just a battle for medical professionals—it was a nationwide struggle that engaged every single citizen. Throughout that challenging year, Wuhan took the lead by implementing measures such as city-wide antibody testing and nucleic acid screenings; daily monitoring of residents’ body temperatures; mandatory daily QR-code check-ins; strict adherence to wearing masks in daily life; regular disinfection of workplaces; and rigorous reporting and scanning procedures for anyone leaving the city.
At the end of December 2020, due to the impact of the pandemic, the Wuhan regional team was unable to hold the traditional project New Year gathering as in previous years, where everyone could come together and freely share their thoughts. With the care and support from company leadership, and in line with the company’s initiatives, the team adapted to the local epidemic situation by organizing tea gatherings centered around individual projects instead. This year’s project-based New Year event, held under the unique circumstances of the pandemic, once again helped every member of the Wuhan team feel a sense of belonging, deeply appreciating the warmth and thoughtful attention they received from the company’s leadership.
